Now more than ever, New Orleans residents understand the challenges of navigating in a city with limited numbers of grocery stores and restaurants. In other words, all New Orleanians now understand the importance of food access. The New Orleans Food and Farm Network (NOFFN) and Marketumbrella.org have created the NOLA Food Map Project to show residents in devastated areas where to find food; from grocery stores and farmers' markets, to restaurants and emergency kitchens.

NOLA Food Maps of the 9th Ward, Broadmoor, Central City, Gentilly, Lakeview, Mid City, and New Orleans East will be distributed free of charge to local faith-based organizations, non-profits, neighborhood associations, community planners and local government officials.

NOFFN is working to rebuild the local food system, neighborhood by neighborhood.
